Their family members are also involved - some husbands knit the eyes, mouth or details. A family that knits together, stays together.

Manos Amigas has been improving the quality of life for its artisan partners since 1991, with products that cultivate the colorful, unique culture of Peru. By introducing easy-access training sites to remote mountain areas, rural artisans can learn to create traditional designs, which express mythical and ceremonial stories. Twenty percent of profits fund nutrition, education and community infrastructure programs, in addition to supporting the wellbeing of the artisan's families.
